Benicia Arsenal Home

Benicia, California's historic Arsenal district is home to one of the best artist communities in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The twice yearly Open Studios are parallel to none, in part due to the Arsenal's nearly 100 artists being concentrated into a relatively small area. In contrast to most open studios events, visitors are able to park their cars and walk to dozens of artist studios, making it possible to see much more art than at other similar events.

In fact, the city of Benicia itself is rich with artistic community. In addition to its reputation as a hub for glass art, Benicia has been home to such names as Robert Arneson and Manuel Neri, and is constantly breeding new talent.

Open Studios is always the first weekend of December and the first weekend of May.
